This is where the famed Santa Fe Trail came to an end. It is still the center of life in Santa Fe. The Burning of Zozobra, or Old Man Gloom, in a park to the north of the Plaza is one of the city’s favorite traditions, with more than 50,000 people turning out each year to cheer on the burning and take part in the festivities.
